Injectables
Injectable Fillers

As we age, the collagen in our skin diminishes, causing fine lines and wrinkles to develop on various areas of the face. When combined with factors like sun exposure, these conditions worsen and often become deep creases that make you look older than you really are. If you wish to restore a youthful appearance to your face without undergoing invasive surgical procedures, injectable fillers may be just the thing for you.

At his New Orleans practice, Dr. H. Devon Graham offers his patients a wide range of injectables to restore a youthful appearance to their face.

Ideal Candidates

Candidates for injectable fillers are in good health and have realistic expectations about the outcome of treatment.

You may be a candidate for injectables if you have one or more of the following:

  • Creases between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Fine lines at the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Wrinkles around the nose or mouth (nasolabial folds, marionette lines)
  • Loss of volume in the cheeks and/or lips

Types of Injectables

After you’ve been deemed a good candidate for treatment, one or more of the following fillers can be injected into your area of concern using a very fine needle.

Restylane®

Approved by the FDA in 2003, this injectable is also made of hyaluronic acid and is used to restore volume to the face and lips. Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formualted to act like your bosy's own naturally produced hyaluronic acid helping to visibly correct moderate to severe  facial wrinkles and folds, incluidng the lines that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corner of your mouth towards the chin (marionette lines).

Restylane® Silk

The lips and the lines around the mouth, like other areas of the face, show signs of aging as you get older. This often results in lip thinning, lost shape and an increase in vertical lines above the lip. Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these particular areas by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other Restylane® products. Restylane® Silk is for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral wrinkles in patients over the age of 21.

Restylane® Lyft

Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine is for deep implantation into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and for cheek augmentation and for the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21.

Autologous Fat Transfer

After fat cells are extracted from the body through liposuction, they are purified and injected into the face. Autologous fat injections are usually most effective on smile lines and wrinkles beneath the eyes.

Recovery and Results

Although you will likely experience some redness and swelling, these symptoms will subside within a couple of days. Since there is little to no downtime associated with injectable fillers, you can return to work and resume your daily routine as soon as the procedure is finished.

The results of your procedure will be immediately visible and become more apparent over the coming weeks. To maintain the best results possible, future injections may be needed every six to eight months.
